Much excitement yesterday - I skipped and hopped over to the quilter's house (picking out houses I'd like to live in along the way - does anyone else do that?) to collect my liberty print sampler quilt from the sew connected 2 quilting bee.
Oh joy.
I loved her from the very start, when she was just a twinkle in my eye, and a pile of fabrics waiting to be cut up and sent out. As she grew into a series of blocks my love for her grew also. When she was a pile of blocks ready to be sewn together my love for her was overflowing. By the time she was a quilt top I didn't think it was possible to have any more love...but I was wrong.
Call me a sap, or a sentimental fool, but in the car on the way home, with her sat on the passenger seat next to me, all wrapped in cellophane, I could have burst.
Last night she was lying on the floor being admired and stroked.
I hate to think what will happen when she gets her binding sewn on. Safe to say I will probably shed a tear of joy or two.
This baby is a keeper, she will be used on our bed, probably get covered in cat hair, and will give me immense pleasure for a very long time.
*sigh* I am one happy lady.

Oh yes she is lovely! It's so great when they finally get quilted.
really exciting.
You know it must be real love if you can envisage the cat hair and STILL be in love ;-)
There is nothing softer or more snuggly than a quilt made from Liberty.
Enjoy!!
Andi :-)
I am a happy lady just reading and thinking about it!
She sounds ( nd looks) just beautiful. And yes, I pick out houses too ;) Enjoy your quilt!
Ooooh it's gorgeous and just perfect on your bed!! I can't wait to see the binding. Ahhh such quilty joy!
WOW! Gorgeous!
It is so pretty and has a vintage feel.
it's really beautiful Katy - it reminds me of an antique quilt - something you'd see on a bed in a wonderful country house. I know what you mean about picking out favourite houses - we do that on the way to school and even notice when they've mowed their lawn, done some gardening, etc. Enjoy that lovely about to burst with joy feeling - it's so good.
Katy , she looks wonderful.
It looks fantasic!
Scrumptious Katy.
oh how cute!!!
:)

: )
She's such a beauty! Enjoy every stitch of her :)
What a fantastic quilt! I think I would be shedding tears of joy as well, if this quilt lived at my house.
It is gorgeous, and cats and quilts are a good match.
So pretty! And special! All those pretty blocks made for you by talented ladies. That is a treasure. And you are an inspiration on how to use those fab Liberty fabrics!!! Enjoy your quilt, Kathy!
Ah. She's beautiful. :)
I am in love with this quilt! I originally saw it on Flickr when I searched for "Liberty quilts." (I am quite obsessed with Liberty fabric.) Your quilt inspired my mother-in-law and me to make a sampler out of Liberty, too. Where did you get the individual block patterns? This quilt is truly a work of art.
