Kreiger and I are having a great day today. Since she came in from the garage (where she was unsuccessfully quilting on the frame) we've had a difficult relationship. I've not been too fond of her, her 'talent' for snapping thread and her general stroppiness was getting on my nerves. I'll say this quietly, so she doesn't hear, but I was beginning to think I might have wasted my money on her. *sigh* Not good. But, I left her alone for a few days, we both sat and sulked. I had a lot of fun with Nina Bernina, and we decided we were better than Kreiger, and that she couldn't be part of our gang anymore. I know, I know - infantile. Bitchy girls.
Well, it was time to get quilting again, so I took a deep breath and dusted Kreiger off. Determined to prove myself wrong and that she was worth the money. Guess what? She is.
Today we've been stippling a quilt that the husband decided (yesterday) I had to make for his friend's baby (who lives in Australia - I think I might be missing the last christmas mail day if I'm not super fast). And the only thing that's annoying me is that my stippling isn't too great, but that's me and not the good lady pfaff. We're getting on brilliantly. She's running like a dream, we've gotten through 3 bobbins already and we're only just over 2/3 of the way through the quilt. Don't tell Nina Bernina, but Kreiger makes quilting really enjoyable, that long throat is dreamy.
I think I'll be ready to brave the frame again soon.
(just in case you're curious - the quilt is made with flower sugar by lecien, some liberty print corduroy and some European florals)

Very pretty quilt, and the stippling looks good to me, perhaps you are being a tad hard on yourself?
Glad to see you and Kreiger are patching up your friendship, perhaps she's jealous of your bond with Nina. It's hard to join an established friendship, perhaps that's why she was a tad moody and snapping threads. I see many happy quilting days ahead of you both.
Hugs, Kelly :-)
Great to hear! Your stippling looks great too! Lovely fabric combo as usual!
The quilt is gorgeous! Are you sure you want to send it to Australia??? Locket xx
Pretty, pretty. Glad there is a thawing in Eurelations.
(Shhhhh ... don't tell Mr. G.M. but last Christmas post for Australia was 4/12)
Good news re the frau krieger .
I am really impressed with your stippling , I'll be taking lessons.
The quilt is so pretty!!!
you're hilarious - I'm glad the peace talks are moving forward!
Glad you are getting on better with Kreiger. Your stippling looks great to me, a lot better than mine. Love the fabrics too. Penny
Well, that's a turn worth celebrating! Did you end up changing anything to help the thread-snapping? Please let us know if you did. Your stippling looks great and I'm sure the babe-down-under will be very happy with her Euro quilt!
Aarghhh. I'm so jealous. I had to stipple Cam's new quilt yesterday. Although it turned out ok in the end (on the Bernina), it was a bugger to do. Took me 3 times as long as I had thought it would, and just couldn't get into a good rythmn. :-(
I'm hankering after a Juki on a swiftquilter frame. One day.
That quilt is gorgeous. I love that Lecien stuff. Man, I need to get my hands on some. I'm glad everyone is behaving themselves and getting along again. Nothing like Christmas time for patching-up relationships.
And the upside is...at least you have 2 machines!
One lucky bub Down Under...fabbo quilt x
Those colours look very Kath Kidston. A lovely piece of work, well done you and Kreiger. Maybe you both were feeling a bit like a good ol' sulk. Once you were both over it - you were soooo over it!
Lovely quilt! I guess some women are harder to get to know than others, and in the end it is well worth the effort!
Love to hear your stories - you're gifted!!
So glad to hear she's behaving! I think your stippling is very impressive and I always think the quilting looks much better once the quilt is bound. It's a beautiful mixture of fabrics - that Liberty cord makes my heart skip a little! It's coming this way you say? Hmmmm!
Sweet...what part of Aus is it going to ....if its local I could always deliver it for you.!!..hehe...Glad to hear you have tamed the machine ..I paid big bucks for my Janome 6600 & still cant get the hang of stippling!!
Yay!!! I told you didn't i?
what lovely fabric combinations, the quilting looks lovely!
: )
Cute quilt! Machine quiling is alot like sex. The more you do it the better you get. And it feels real good to get back in saddle when you haven't done it for awhile. Merry quilting!
That quilt is too beautiful. So glad you and your German gal are making up. Of course if she disappoints you again I'd be glad to come and take her right away!
Well I love what you showed. The fabrics are delightful-some that I have too. For me it is so hard to get used to something new but once I do I fall in love.
Hi... Looking ways to market your blog? try this: http://bit.ly/instantvisitors
Hi, so I won a consolation prize in August but never received it. Then in Oct, you said you would send something else since it must have gotten lost in the mail. I resent you my address but still haven't received anything from you. Not sure what's going on with this but wanted to follow up.
