yesterday...

Dodgy phone pic but....

I added to my collection of tattoos with a Tula Pink frog prince. We got the outline and the first part of the shading done yesterday, and I go back in July to (hopefully) sit for long enough to get the rest coloured in and all the little details added. I tend to wimp out after 3 hours, so we'll see. It's a pretty nice size, not so big that it looks like a crazy huge frog has taken over my body and not so small that you'll miss the details. I did say when I started it that this might be the last one...but I'm doubting that very much actually. I hate how addictive tattoos are. I would love to have the Marie Antoinette ship head (from Parisville) on my ribs, but I need to resign myself to the fact that it would hurt just too much and I don't really like pain. Best to think small.

Totally amazing! I like it like it is right now, but I can only imagine how much more awesome it's gonna be with full color! You rock :)

I have been agonizing for the past 3 year about which second tattoo I should be getting. The first is a sun on my right shoulder plate that I got some 10 years ago and I kind of feel incomplete on my left body so to say. It has never crossed my mind to take inspiration from fabric which is very silly as that is what inspires me for a lot of other creative things.

Ouch! The hour or so that each of my tattoos took was more than enough for me! It looks fab, can't wait to see it finished. Maybe you could photograph yourself languishing on yardage of frog prince fabric... :)

Looks fab! You have a great tattooist!

Wow! That is going to be one spectacular tattoo. Look forward to seeing the end result.

Not big you say? Big enough that the thought of sitting still long enough to get it done is giving me the jitters!

It is indeed a beautiful work of art.

Aaaaggghhhhh!!! It's amazing - I love it! LOVE it! And now I want one! (but I'm too much of a wuss!)

It looks wonderful but don't you worry about the design going out of date or you getting sick of it? The main reason I have stayed away from tattoos is their permanence and me worrying about me getting sick of the look.

I cannot wait to see it with the colors inside! The detail looks great already, so adding more detail will make it extraordinary.

It's terrific and will look even better when colored! When friends have asked me what it feels like to get a tattoo I tell them, "It feels like someone is dragging a needle through your skin." I get cranky instead of wimpy and want to slap away the source of the irritation - not a good idea!
I could easily see Shiphead Marie on an ankle....

think small? ...crazy woman! ;-)
i'd join you in the tula pink tattoo parade... but i have a zero pain threshold! i walked in a tattoo place once, but then i walked out!
...love you and your tattoos bunches!

wow it looks great! Your a lot braver than me, I can't do needles unless absolutly necessary - so will remain wrinkled too!

Wow - I would not want to put some poor tattooist through looking and man-handling at my dimpled thighs for that long!! It looks superb x

i have always thought about having a tattoo or 20. i bet it would make looking at myself in the mirror so much more colorful and fun. draws the eye away from the muffin top and cellulite to the beautiful frog on my thigh. loooove it.

That looks amazing! Had to laugh though when you said "i dont really like pain. best to think small" Small? OMG I pass out if I have to get a shot at the doctors! I dont know how you do it!

Love it! I love that you have both the Tula Pink owl and frog...I only have one tattoo, but I've been thinking about getting another since I got the first one. They certainly are addictive! I really want one right behind my ear - but it would obviously have to be small...and it would probably hurt a ton!

It looks amazing! Can't wait for the end result. I don't think you are a wimp for "only" being able to grin and bear it for THREE hours! You rock!

I told you I'm not a tattoo fan really. But somehow yours are beautiful. Different.

It's gorgeous - what a talent Tula Pink is, and your tattoo artist as well! Please can we see a pic of your owl all coloured in? And ribs? OUCH! You just don't have enough padding there, dear!

WOW! Looks amazing! You must post when it's fully colored in!

Katy! That is gorgeous! I can't wait to see it when it's done. And you're right--they're VERY addictive...my full backpiece is a testament to that. :D Rock on!

Wow! This is how you think small? You crack me up. It's beautiful, can hardly wait to see it colored in.
You're right about them being addictive. I got one at 40 and wanted another immediately. I decided to wait until 50, now I've got 8 years to decide what I'll get for my 60th. :P

Dang it! You're making me really really want another tattoo! I really shouldn't logically (since I'm allergic to stupid skin stuff)... I'd love to get a pretty bold tattoo of that new Lilouthi AMH print (the big floral one). I love how yours looks right now, and I'm sure it'll only look better with color! :)

I have that same......dress! Liberty of London!

Did you think I was going tattoo? I have a tattoo on my waist and the artist sometimes hit my bottom rib. It hurt like hell! Avoid the ribs!

The tattoo is amazing already and there's more colour and detail to be added - WOW! Love that it was taken from a fabric design :)
