did you hear?

I've been fit to burst trying to keep this quiet for the past month or so! This October I'll be in Salt Lake City and teaching a class at the Sewing Summit!

I'm so excited, but also so nervous (I saw pictures of the classes last year - they were not tiny groups, they were big!)

Want to know what I'm teaching? English Paper Piecing, the basics (but working towards making something rather than randomly basting shapes). Something like this..... (ok - not something like this, actually this, but this will be actually finished, and not in pieces as it is right now)

You could come too! Registration for Sewing Summit opens next month. We'd have such fun. I promise.

Besides, it's only right a real life genuine English person teaches English Paper Piecing, right?

In celebration of all thing paper pieced, Laura is giving away 2 copies of Fat Quarterly Issue 8 {paper} on her blog at the minute. Shimmy on over and enter!

Looking forward to meeting you at SS, Katy! There were about 3 of us doing EPP on our own last year, all hexes; it'll be fun to mix it up a little and get more folks involved!

p.s. - you'll do fine, it's a very open and friendly crowd! If you arrive early, look around the lobby for any female with a foolish grin on her face; you can approach freely knowing she's there for Summit!

I did hear; and not only that, you were the deciding factor on weather or not to go :) I can't wait to go to your class and see your awesome tats. I think you should stay late and travel south to see the desert while you are her. I was in England two years ago and thought how foreign my place would seem to you and your peeps.
Can't wait for October to get here already.

Oh, wow, this is wonderful! But I'm going to pretend I didn't see it because I don't need another hexie project! And I wish I could go to sewing summit, poop. I'll just have to put on a fake brit accent when I'm at MQX (had to pick one or the other) so I feel like I'm there!
